Can You...

Share your horsemanship resolution for 2011?

What are you going to do to be better for your horse this year?
What goal would you like to reach in your horsemanship journey this year?

  1. My goal is to get fit! I want to be able to 1)keep up with my horse during my 2-week "Horse Behavior and YOU" course in Pagosa in June and 2)not pass out from the altitude. ;) My plan includes cardio, strength, flexibility and balance training. Some of those are hard to measure, and I won't know if I've succeeded until I get to CO, but I'm going to do my best. I've tried to "get fit" before, but having a purpose will surely make it easier this time.

  2. My other (somewhat related) goal is to improve my bareback riding skills. My ultimate goal is to be able to jump my giant horse over a picnic table and/or upright barrels bareback and NOT DIE. Don't tell my mom - she'll freak out. ;) I have images of Fran and Linda as inspiration for this one, and realize that I might not complete this goal this year, but I'm going to give it my best shot!

  3. With Pat just announcing Parelli's partnership with ACTHA and discovering these new challenges, I resolve to get to one of these trials this year -- even without a horse, -- just to get excited about it.

Good luck, Tina, with yours. You sound well on your way and motivated!
